Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is born in Romania and is a Romanian actress as well as a television host. Her most well-known work is the protagonist of Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control, and Rush. As the sole daughter of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into the show business at an early age and was acting in lead roles on various series on TV by the time she reached the age of 16. Her acclaimed and critically acclaimed performance in the television film made for TV Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including that as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge in the critically and commercially successful Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex as well as The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films that feature this beautiful actress. Alexandra worked on several notable international and national projects throughout the years. These include British biographical films Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and the French history mini-series Napoleon and many more. In addition, she was a member of the jury for the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
